 LI: To try using laboratory equipment

During tech we practised using laboratory equipment. Our topic was based around the practise of laboratory equipment. The types of equipment we used were beakers, petri dishes, thermometers, mixers, weighing machines, and stopwatches. 

We measured 100ml of cold and hot water into our beakers and recorded the temperture of each of them. We then measured exactly 10 grams of sugar into a petri dish, and to get an exact amount we used our weighing machine. The last step we took was timing how long it took for the sugar to dissolve in the cold and hot water. 

The part of this lesson that I enjoyed the most was measuring the temperature of the water, I learned that hot water dissolves sugar alot faster than the cold water does.

 Celebrating the Summer Learning Journey

LI: To celebrate our PBS SLJ participants. 

I really enjoyed the activities that were set for us during throughout Summer Learning Journey. It was also quite fun getting the challenges from Nano girl because we were able to make things using everyday household objects. Attending our assembly, was Mrs Grant and Miss Paleti who acknowledged our achievments, and presented our prizes. Congratulations Sakshi for being the PBS top blogger, top commenter, and the top blogger in the whole of the Manaiakalani. 

Film Festival | Manaiakalani

This week Manaiakalani schools attended the 13th Manaiakalani film festival that was in Sylvia Park's Hoyts. Most of the films that we watched were about Covid 19.

The Manaiakalani film festival is held for schools in the Manaiakalani cluster. 

Our film talked about the importance it is to sanitise. Most of the other films were about the pandemic, and paying tribute to essential workers. 

The film I enjoyed the most was Maori language week by Tamaki college because it was pretty funny and interesting.

My name is Oscar. I am one third Samoan, one third Niuean and i'm one third british/english. I am a year 6 student in LS1 at Panmure Bridge School. At home I enjoy reading, playing with my sister and playing outside in the backyard. When I'm in school I like maths, playing with my friends and reading.

2019 Manaiakalani film festival: Wow human evolution

Today panmure bridge school ( PBS ) went to the Manaiakalani film festival which was at sylvia park. We did this to watch the movies from the Tamaki area. The movie I liked was " Wow, Human Evoulution " From Tamaki college. It was very funny and also educational because it tells us about human evolution. Maniakalani Film Festival

LI: To learn how to make a smart comment on other people's blog.
Today we went to our Maniakalani Film festival. After we had to write a smart comment on the other schools song or movie. I try to include positivity, thoughtfulness and helpfulness.

I commented on Tamaki College's song. To check out the song click this link. They made a song explaining different elements to make a specific thing. There song is called "Acid, do you love me".

Movie Narrative

LI: To write a quick narrative for manaiakalani film festival.

This week for writing we had to make a short story for the manaiaklani film festival. All the groups had a narrtive planner that inculded a orientation, problem, events and the solution.
