Taniwha practice | Ki O Rahi

LI: To learn how to play the taniwha role.
This week for Ki O rahi we had to play three different challenges to learn about the taniwha role in Ki O Rahi. For the first challenge we had Everyone had to throw the ki at the tupu to get a score in 1 min, our score was 19 hits. For the second we had to time how long it would take us to let every hit the tupu, Our score is 1 min 58 sec. For the final challenge we had 1 min to hit the tupu with kaitiaki guarding the tupu, Our high score is two. We also had focus on staying in te rotu and to stay out of pawero.

This week for commenting I made a smart comment on my cousin Lukah's Blog. I commented on his reading fires because it caught my attention and I wanted to learn more about it.

Reading Fire

LI: to understand a local event through reading
This week for reading we had to learn about bushfires. First we had to make a slide then we had to write down the 5W's and the main events in the articles. Next my group had to summurise some key words and sentences from the text. Then we had to evalute the article on our own. Lastley we had to make two posters, one explaining what the risk of a fire is in New Zealand and the next one was to make a google map poster talking about the fire ratings in cities.

Maths

LI: To learn how to brainstorm a number
This week for maths we had to think of a number and brainstorm equations and facts about the number. when we had completed that we had to make a A4 sized poster to share with the class. Each member in our group would have to say something about there poster.

Inquiry | Personal Strengths | Emotions | Touch | Safe and Unsafe situations

LI: To identify behaviours by that make them feel unsafe or comfortable.
This week for inquiry the first thing we did was learn about our personal strengths. I of my personal strengths and one of them are Softball but a am bad at soccer. I like soccer and I dislike rugby. The next thing we learnt about is Emotions about what makes you happy / angry / sad / confused etc. And safe things to do when you are angry / embarrassed / sad etc. We next learnt about the three different types of touch which are touch we like, touch we dislike and touch that makes us confused. We were then talking about what is a safe and unsafe situation like a safe one is playing paper, scizzors, rock with your sister. An unsafe situation is walking down a alley way at midnight.

Music

LI: to play chords c, f, g & a.
This week for music we played one call away and shotgun. when we played one call away the first chords were C , F, G and A. A note means one sound on its own and a chord is notes together. if we played the chords we had to skip 1 like Ce.

Ki o Rahi

LI: to learn the areas of the field in Ki o Rahi
This week for kiwi sport we were learning about the field in the game. The circle in the middle represents tupu the rock Rahi landed close to. the green circle is the paweru which is the island rahi landed on. inbetween the green and red circle is were the te rutu is, the te rutu is meant to be the mote the taniwha made. the yellow squares are the po which are the seven Taniwha teeth. Lastly the yellow circles on the bottom are Te are / Rahi's wife and that is what the ice bridge is called.
