Olympic Maths Challenge 1 | Micheal Phelps

LI: To find the most efficient strategy to figure out the question.
For the first Olympic maths question we had to figure out how many metres Micheal Phelps swam in all of the events he competed in. The answer to that was 1500 metres.

The second thing we found out was how many strokes Micheal Phelps took in all of his events combined. We were informed that Micheal Phelps swims two metres with every stroke so we divided 1500 by 2 and had our answer of 750. We think that Micheal Phelps took roughley 750 strokes.

I enjoyed this activity because it combined my enjoyement for maths with the Olympics.
