LI: To learn about maori food
This week for maori we had to learn about the different maori foods. We had to get two pieces of paper the have different foods on them. We would have to learn the maori meaning of them and then once we had put the maori name for the food under the correct food item. We could color them in after we had don that.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Multiplacation Algorithim
.
LI: To learn about algorithim
This week for maths we had to make a slideshow about algorithim.
We could eather make our algorithim slide about the 4 topics I have already talked about in my last maths blog post. But I will just show you: Multiplacation, Subtraction, Addition and Divsion. If you don't know what algorithim means then I will tell you. Algorithim is helped by place value. To learn more about algorithim watch the slide above. I enjoyed learning about algorithim and would like to do it again. I learnt algorithim by focusing on my work.

Kiwi Can
LI: To learn about respecting our inviorment
This week for Kiwi Can we had a new topic called respect for our inviorment. For our energizer we had to play a game called 4 courners.
To play we had to get one person in the middle and the rest of the people. They would have a certain amount of time until the person in the middle would choose what corner was the loudest. whatever corner they picked and the amount of people in that courner would be out for that round. For our game we played invisible touch rugby. If you want to learn more about this game look for the label Kiwi Can and read those blogpost ( or quickly go threw them ) and you will find it there. I learnt by listening to the Kiwi Can leaders.

Inquiry: Peace
LI: To explore the definitions of peace
This week for inquiry we had to make a DLO ( Digital Learning Object ) Talking about peace. First we would have to make a group of 5. After we had done that we had to list down some synonyms and antonyms around peace.
We had about 15 minutes to do this. When the 15 minutes was up we had to report back to our teacher on what words we had discovered. Then we would have to split eachother into to groups and pairs. One half would make a group of 3 and the other had to make a pair. When we made the DLO we had to look at 9 different photo's that were peace or conflict. We had to write down three words that described the photo when we saw it. After we finished that we had to write one sentence based on one of the three words that we chose. After we had completed that task we had to write a sentence from the persons perspective. The last thing we had to do was make a poster about peace and then put it on the slide. I learnt by listening to what I had to do and focusing on it.

Boxing
LI: To learn about counter attack.
This week for Boxing we had to learn about the different counter attacks. We had to get into pairs. One pair would have liners and boxing gloves. The second pair would have 2 pool noodles to coach the boxer.
The first combo we learnt included guard, cross, left hook and another cross. When we did our guard our partner would have smack our gloves then we would put our hands down to do the boxing combo that we learnt from last week. The second combo I learnt included bridge, then to bridge forward, cross then and a left hook. When we did our bridge our partner had to try and hit us before we could bridge away. Next they would have to put there noodles back up and the boxers we would have to bridge back and cross and a left hook. For the third combonation we did a slip. When we did the slip we would have to counter differently depending on what side we went. We could slip right or left. If we sliped left we would have to come back with a left hook, if we sliped right we would have to come back with a cross. The last combo we did had to use a upper cut in the punch. We had duck under the noodles and come up with a upper cut.

Infering
LI: To Infer thoughts and emotions
This week for reading we had to watch a video called " For the birds". Once we completed watching the video we had to complete a slide show. We were first told to make 2-3 inference's. Midway through making the inferences we had to make 6 or as many as we could. Watched the video over 3 times so that each time I could pick out little inferences. An Inference is when you read through a text and get details and put them together to make one big idea.

Addition Poster
LI: To make a poster about the topic we chooose
This week for maths we had to choose a category and then make a poster, animation, video or slide show. The four subjects we could choose were: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.
I chose the Addition Poster Because I think it would be a good subject to learn more about first. Before I made the poster our teacher gave all of us the same addition methods to learn about. The 2 methods we learnt about are place value and Tidy numbers. When I made my poster I used the print design rules from T1 ( Term 1 ).

LI: To learn about boxing defenses.
This week for boxing we had to learn about some different boxing defenses. We had to get into partners and practice these move. The first defense we used is called Guard. It is similar to the rock but your protecting your whole face instead of just your cheek bones. You partner would hit your glove with a pool noodle and you would have to get in to your guard position. One part of the guard is you have to make one gap for your head to see through.
The second defense we used is called bridge. The key about the bridge is to stay firm on your feet and to not fall over. I can't really think of any thing else to talk about for the bridge.
The third defense mechanisme we used is called slip. It is were you had to put you noodle on there shoulder and the person with gloves had to roll under and get the noodle to be on there other shoulder.

WW1: Trench Wars
LI: To learn about trenches
This week for inquiry we had to make a slideshow about trench wars.
We had to find information about The trench wars and put the information that we learnt and understood into all four boxes. There were three videos explaining what happened in the trench wars and one BBC News article also explaining things about trench wars. Once we had done that we had to show our slide to one of the teachers. Some pairs had to do five boxes, the fifth box explained why and how the land was called was called No Mans Land. We didn't to a fifth slide but thats ok I wish I could do this again some time
Kiwi Can
LI: To learn about respect.
This week for Kiwi Can we had to learn more about respect. We also learnt more about how we can respect our communite. We learnt different way we could respect our communite and what is the oppisite of them and what it could do.
The name of our energizer was called tunnel ball. To play you have to make a circle with you legs open. Once that is done you have to get a ball. You have to try and hit the ball with one hand inbetween a person's legs. If you do they are eliminated from the game. The actual game we played was called arm soccer ( or arm football ). You have to split yourselves into two groups and if you want you can name your groups. The rules are: you can not use two hands or your feet, you can not pick the ball up and you can not hold the ball still. The first to get to ten goals wins. I really enjoyed Kiwi Can and wish I could do this again.

LI: To learn how to pronounce words in maori.
This week for Maori we had to make a poster about spelling and pronouncing foods in maori. Our Maori teacher said there has to be no english within the poster, not even images could contain english in it.
We had to get into pairs. After we did that our Maori teacher gave our pairs numbers. The number we had links to one of the food items. The food items me and Leon chose were butter, Peanut butter, Honey and jam. When it came to making the poster we both worked as a team to finish. I really enjoyed this maori lesson and wish to do it again.

Kiwi Can
LI: To respect our communite.
This week for Kiwi Can we learnt more about respecting our communite. We talked about what communites surround us and how we can help them.
Our energizer was called remote. To play you need a master of the "remote". If they say go you have to walk normally. If they say rewind you have to walk back the path you took. By this I mean you can walk in a straight line but you can't walk back a different way. If he they say pause you must jump on the spot then freeze. If they say fast forward you have to speed walk. if they just say stop and you stop your out because stop isn't one of the 4 words. Even hesatating a incorrect action will get u out. The game we played was called Invisible Rugby. To play you need to split your selves into two different groups. Now you can play this on any surface ( Just make sure the surface is flat ). Someone says a number and whatever number they say the amout of people go. For example if someone say 2 then 2 people start running near the other teams trie line. the person who shouts out the number also has to say who is holding the ball. If a player tags the person who has the ball then they have the ball.

Boxing
LI: To learn how to use combinatoins in boxing.
This week for boxing with Pax we learnt how to put boxing combinations together. We used what we learned from the previous weeks and put them all together. The boxing punches that we used were called: Jab, Cross, left hook, right hook, left upper cut and the right upper cut.
We had to get into pairs and when we were done finding our partner we had to put some liners and gloves on. Our partner went to grab two pool noodles for the boxing partners to punch. The person who was wearing the gloves had to punch the noodles.
The first combination we used was jab, jab, cross. The second combination we learnt was jab, cross, left hook and one more cross. The last combination we learnt was jab, cross, left hook, right hook, left upper cut and then right upper cut. When our turn was over with the gloves we had to swap them with our partner so that we could all have a go at boxing. I had fun learning boxing combinations and would like to do it again.

LI: To learn about ryhmes from Dr Seuss's books
This week for writing I had to get into a group of 4. Once we had found our group we had to make a slide show about the different kinds of rhyming there is. We read a Dr Seuss book because Dr Seuss has a lot of rhymes within his books. The People that were helping me are Chris, Mojtaba and Xavier. The different kind of rhymes we used were End rhymes, Alliterations, Assonances and Consanance. We had to explain all four of them including examples from Dr Seuss books.
Maori
This week for Maori we got to learn more about Paikea. We looked and another book that was set after the story of Papatuanuku and Ranginui. After we had read the book we made a poster talking about the Tahuhu carving. To get this design to look the best I can make it I had to the print design rules from T1 ( Term 1 ).
I try to make it so that the words were easy to read by using color. I also used a balance of text and Images by using compistion. I tried filling all the space I had by using my images and text. Once I had finished my poster I sent it to my Maori teacher for feedback. I have linked a text to one of the Paikea songs that were performed by college students.

Armisticer Day Slide
LI: This week I learned to commemorate those who fought in WW1This week I learned by working with a partner to do this, his name is Lukah. We had to do a google slide about armistice day, armistice day was a day about coremeration.
For the first slide we had to write information about a song called the last post, if you don’t know what that is look at the slide above, we specifically had to add information about what was the last post and why is it played, we also added some images as well.
For the Second slide we had to write information about the Poem called “ The Fallen” Which is a poem about Commemoration for our fighters in WW1. “ The Fallen” Was made in September 1914 by Laurence Binyon.
For the last slide we added information about why we use the poppies, in you want to find out why look at the last slide, the cool thing is they grew in the battlefields when the ww1 ended.
We did this by working hard and focusing on our goal without distractions. We also worked together and accepting others ideas.
