Lac Long Quan Lesson
LI: To understand the purpose of a narrative.
This week for reading we had to learn about the Vietnam myth called Lac Long Quan and we also had to ask some questions and figure out the answers. We also had to use our smart searching skills to figure out our answers.
We had to make a DLO explaining what we think the story of Lac Long Quan story, like what we think the message is and what the moral is. if you watch the video above then you will see my answers about the moral and more, the main thing I think we had to do was to ask some questions about the story and then figure out the answers. I find the question part hard because it took me a very long to to find out the answers.
I learnt more about how to use my smart searching skills a lot more.

YMCA Swimming
LI: To learn how to be safe in different enivorments contained with water
This week for swimming we had to learn how we can get in a pool or anything else with water while wearing a life jacket and how to take and put on a life jacket while in water. We also had to learn how to make a chain while someone is holding the shoulder of your life jacket but you also have to be holding someone life jacket unless you are at the front.
We played a little game in the pool were we had to make a circle by holding on to the back of eachothers life jackets and then we spun around in a circle, then we let go of eachother and we floated on our back without kicking. after that we had to come back in and then the instructor showed us how to put our life jacket back on while in the pool.
We learnt how to put our life jacket on while in the pool and how to get in the pool safly with our life jackets on but the main thing the tought us was another step of how to be saftey in water.

Kiwi Can
LI: To learn how to solve a problem.
This week at Kiwi Can we had to learn how to solve a problem and the problem we had to fix was to not be shy or scared to ask a question. We had to think of different ways to get around this problem so that we are not afraid to ask someone how to spell or do something.
For our energizer we played a game tha I don't know the name of but I know how to play it. So first you have to get some hula hoops and put in a half cut oval shape. Then make a line were the person at the front has to jump on each one and then once the person of the other team jumps on the hula hoop infront of you then you have to play paper, scissors rock with them, if you win then you move forward, but if you lose then you go back to the back of the line then the next person in your team goes and tries to stop the opponent and if he or she loses then the other teams front person goes and you go on and on. Then we played our game which was mat soccer and if you read my last blog post then you know how to play mat soccer but if you didn't then basicly everyone sits in a circle and they get given a number that goes up to four and if you say number two for example then number two's stand up and the other have to try and hit them while using a ball but you can only roll it and hit it, you have to hit knee or under and the last rule is no stealing the ball when the person next to you has it.
We learnt how to solve a problem that was being shy or scared to ask someone a question but even if your friends make fun of you for not knowing something the important part is, at least you have the answer now so forget about what they say is what Kiwi Can is trying to say I think.

Inquiry: Structres
LI: We had to try and make a structre that could pass some natrual disasters.
For todays inquiry lesson we had to try and make a little structre that could not fall down by a mini earthquake and a fan that is our mini hurricane. It was hard for our group because not meany people were sharing there ideas, I was trying to but they were so focused on there ideas that I didn't wan't to interrupt them so I did my idea on my own, now I am not saying that I my towers where the best but they survived didn't get knocked down by the tests as easily as the other towers that were taller than mine. For the second matierials that we had to use we tried to communicate but it didn't get us anywhere because when we had almost finished but Sandra accidently let go of part of our structre and it collapsed so we tried to start over by making a one by one with a triangle on top, unfortunately we did not complete our new structre.

YMCA Lagoon Swimming
LI: To learn how to save people in water who are drowning and panicing.
This week for swimming we had to learn how to save people who are panicing while swimming. We had to think of ways that let us save them but also doesn't make us fall in with them and a way to make sure we don't just swim after them because you might put yourself in danger eswell.
first we had to get into pairs and one person went in the water calling for help, to call for help you have to raise your arm up and shout out "HELP!" theree times and your partener had shouted out help you have to use the pool noodle and then pass some of it to them and then on your side grip on tight and then pull them back in. The next thing we did was we jumped into the water and we tried to go to the deep in and spin our legs in a circle and our arms side to side to keep us up. The very last thing we did was the pencil dive which is were you put your arms to your side and feet to gether and from there you go straight in. if nothing works to breath then lie down on your back with your head facing up so that you can breathe.
We learnt how to save people who are panicing in water, we also learnt how to call for help so that you know that people have a better chance of seeing you and saving you. the last thing we learnt to do was lying down on our backs to breathe.

Problem solving with Kiwi Can
LI: To learn how to comunicate to solve a problem.
This week for Kiwi Can we had to play two games and comunicate to eachother to figure out how to solve the problem but I came in late and missed the energizer but I was there before they had played there game.
game and the game was called mat tag where people where given numbers they had to remeber, also the numbers went up to four so when your number is called out you have to go into the middle of the circle. there is one ball that people will be wacking at you but to get the people in the middle out you have to hit there knee below you can not hit knee above. The last person out of all four groups moved on to the finals and they versed the winners from the other teams in the finals you had to try and not hit your teams winner and you have to try and aim for the others. I was happy that my team won and didn't lose.

Kiwi Can
LI: To show resilience.
This week for kiwi can we had to set a goal and learn what will help us achieve it. For our energizer we played a game called tag snatch and to play you have to get a tag each and put it in your pocket ( also make sure to put it in your pocket well because if it falls out then you are out), The goal is to take the opponents tag and be the last one standing. The game we played was called ball trouble where we had to carry the ball in different ways, we also didn't do it alone because we had to pair up with someone, but to build our confidence we worked in boy girl, boy girl and so on. For example you can only use your back to prevent the ball from falling so you also have to communicate with your partener.
