Kiwi Sport | Ki O rahi | Kioma Practice

LI: To learn about the role of Kioma.
This week for Ki O Rahi ( Kiwi Sport ) we were practicing the role of Kioma, we also had the new addition of a kicker. To start of Ki O Rahi the kicker has to stand near the end of te ara and the kickers area is called Te Marama. Only one member of Kioma can be kicker and the kickers job is to kick it into the paweru while the kaitiaki is trying to catch the Ki on the full. If the Ki rolls team Taniwha gets the Ki. If the Ki is droppped taniwha gets it. If kaitiaki catches the ball on the full they have to throw it to team Kioma. To practice this we played three different activites. The Kaitiaki enter and exit paweru through Te Ara ( The Ice Bridge ). They were the rescue of Te Ara, Golden child and we all had a turn to kick.
